‘The Will’s Creek Exhibition 2021’

The Will's Creek Competition & Exhibition of Fine Art is one of the signature events of the Allegany Arts Council, celebrating contemporary art in a variety of mediums. Now more than 20 years since its inception, the show continues to stretch the boundaries of contemporary art, showcasing artists who push the limits, and seek innovation in their artistry. The exhibition will include the work of 54 artists from 22 states throughout the United States. It can also be viewed online.

‘Eternity In The Balance’

One-of-a-kind art inspired by Kintsugi and the power of time. The shell was worn down creating pitting and a lace pattern around the edges, showing its long journey through time. I highlighted this pattern to add beauty and make it more prominent, adding gold leaf on the edges.  The shell balances on its side and was painted to allude to a galaxy which complements the natural pitting that occurred from the many years of being tossed on the bottom of the ocean.  TIME.  The wear on this shell is evidence of a very long period of time. It challenges us to contemplate our use of time and the long term consequences of our short term use of time.
